We are forming a Virtual Charter School in California.

We are interested in finding persons interested in all aspects of creating an innovative Charter school.   We are interested in emphasis on creating an ecologically aware, golbal vision, and future leadership training  school program.  What are your ideas and skills you can bring to this collaboration?

Glad to see you are starting such a venture!

Very interested! I just finished my LEC Certification for online teaching, have been teaching middle school humanities in Temecula for 16 years, am a Google certified Teacher and DEN star educator. I live in Oceanside, and have had big dreams of starting the "right kind" of school for a LONG time!

DEFINITELY interested! I have taught online for 4 years. I've created quite a few web based courses and would really like to find a school that is a good fit for me. I have to stay in Nebraska, but would really like to visit with you about your ideas. Message me or look for me in the Newbie Lounge. I am coordinating it and will be in there frequently. I'm also @bethstill on Twitter if you are on there.

Interested.

I am a GCT, 16 years in education, multiple credentials, alum of the JHU/ISTE Admin and Supervision graduate certification program, and opportunities to collaborate with a solid team for the benefit of inspiring learners is what I'm all about.

I was involved in

  • a K-8 Waldorf Charter and homeschooling from 1994-1997,
  • a K-12 public global/ecology magnet school from 1999-2011, and
  • online coaching from 2004-2011 with schools all over the world.

I think that two secrets of success for a virtual school are a

  • strong online social network and
  • frequently monitored standards-based collaborative projects.

I have crossed many roadblocks with help from teachers around the world.  I think that this platform could work for Title I students and others.

Hi WIlliam. I'd like to hear and talk more about this. I currently already am a 9-12 online teacher with the only accredited online independent school in the U.S., in addition to teaching in a brick-and-mortar school.
