We are looking forward to the extra support from Tech4Learning this year. So far, Lindie has indicated that they can contribute green screens, backgrounds (various sizes), props and toys for construction and interaction, laptops and cameras. Will you be able to provide written instructions for making some of these digital products? Handouts for software projects for Pixie, Twist, Frames, etc?
I think our Digital Storytelling SIG will have some examples exemplary digital media products to share. What other details should we be focusing on? Software, hardware and peripherals needed?

I like this clip (despite the fact that I am in it). Maybe we can take more video at this year's event for an official promo video for ISTE 2013!
Permalink Reply by Savilla Banister on February 6, 2012 at 7:19am Yes. Each year I think I'll get more video, and then I get so busy in the DAS that I don't get it done...maybe you can help me identify others to capture video...or I can place a few tripods around. Then I have to remember to download the footage that day, so it doesn't get lost. I can bring some FlipCams or other small video cameras for this purpose.
Danielle Abernethy has roped her dad into making some great DIY green screen kits we can use during the DAS. My mom also has a Cricut "thingy" for making paper shapes, and I have already been collecting things from her animals and paper dolls collection for a "cut paper" station.
Permalink Reply by Savilla Banister on February 6, 2012 at 7:20am Great! As you can see, I don't have a lot of participation in the NING at this point. I have received a few emails from Uwe and Stuart (they usually avoid the NING)...but I am so appreciative that Tech4Learning is playing such a key role this year!!!!!!!
Thanks for including Tech4Learning. The playground atmosphere is a perfect match for us. I spent the weekend raiding my mom's Cricut machine for cut paper animation ideas. :)
I think most people aren't yet thinking about ISTE, but the more I can plan now the easier June will be, since I will most likely be out all month doing professional development.
Permalink Reply by Savilla Banister on March 6, 2012 at 10:07am I'm so glad you are planning ahead. I will have some phone meetings in March and then will be able to share more about space and resources in the DAS.
Permalink Reply by Danielle Abernethy on April 18, 2012 at 5:56am I was bad - I kept forgetting to come back to the Ning to collaborate. I do have a variety of green screens coming. Some are cheap and easy - $3 and some are more like $15 and a small bit of construction. I'm definitely on board for doing sessions! Frames 5 is definitely on the top of the list! :D
Permalink Reply by Savilla Banister on April 23, 2012 at 4:33am No problem. A few of our collaborators NEVER use this space, but it helps me to keep everything straight. So a Pixie, a Wixie and a Frames 5 session. How about 9 am, 11 am and 1 pm for those?
Can we put Frames 5 in the 9am slot? That way I can do that one. I am hoping to get Kaitlyn Abell to present on Pixie, still working on whether it will be 11 or 1pm.
Permalink Reply by Savilla Banister on April 27, 2012 at 1:46pm Yes...that sounds great! Keep me posted on the others.
Permalink Reply by Danielle Abernethy on April 18, 2012 at 6:11am We'll also have the play prompts and a QR code or something for them to take with how to download the free trials of our software.
This will be my first visit and time spent in the Digital Arts Studio Playground. What about anything with drawing? Vector drawing? Photography?
