"Hi guys, this is my first time attending ISTE. I see lots of ISTE attendees with more ribbons than a four-star general (in the Air Force, we call that "fruit salad" :-). What's the secret to earning these mysterious ISTE ribbons? "

How does your school use interactive whiteboards?

I've been providing SMART Board training and technical support for the last several years at Defense Language Institute. DLI got its first SMART Boards in fall 2008, and recently upgraded to 685ix boards. As we teach a wide range of military subject matter from aviation to medical English to Explosive Ordnance Disposal, there are a variety of creative and engaging ways to incorporate the SMART Board into our curriculum. All of our faculty has attended Notebook Levels 1 and 2 training, and many…See More

About Me
I'm a SMART Notebook 10 Certified Trainer and educational technology trainer at Defense Language Institute. In addition to teacher training on SMART Notebook 10, I create military-themed ESL/EFL/ESP SMART Board activities to support our curriculum at DLI. I am also in charge of the American Language Course 24/7 project, an MP3 player pilot study involving 50 international military students. I teach and write aviation course materials (both fixed and rotary wing), and am interested in advances in avatar and aviation sim lab technology (we use both at DLI).
